LIME
The lime is perfect for countries with warm
climates. It came to Spain during the Arabian invasion, when it could be
found in every corner of the country. This citrus has an ornamental use and is
especially valid for its fragrance. Its flower is white, small and with 4
petals.
Its fruits can be eaten and its use in
kitchen is very widespread. Unlike other citrus fruits, the lime at maturity
acquires the green tone.
It
has a very aromatic and special fruit.

TEMPERATURE

Lime likes warm temperatures and never cold, so it is convenient to
put it inside the house during the winter protecting it from frost.

IRRIGATION

Very moderate water 1-2 times a week in summer, and
irrigation will suffice every week for 7-10 days the rest of the year.
Humidity is not good for the plant.

SOIL
|
Drainage is very important and it is important also to take care of the
soil´s PH: not very high, otherwise it may not give fruit. To compensate for
the high pH, lime can be added to the floor.

FLOWERING

It begins to
bloom in late winter and throughout the spring

FERTILIZED
|
It can be fertilized every 4 months during the first year, from the
second it should be reduced.

PRUNING
|
Only pruning cleaning in winter to remove branches
near the ground, but it is not required.
