Orange
The
Orange tree is a medium tree with a special green colour leaves and really
nice fragrance of its flower, the orange blossom, that sprout all around the
tree in little groups. The fruit is very decorative and it remains in the
tree for a long time.
With Asiatic origin: India, Pakistan,
Vietnam and southeast of China (warm and humid weathers) were the Arabs who
brought it to
Occident.

Humid and warm climates.

IRRIGATION
|
It needs lot of water from Spring until Autumn. A
little less during the winter time. Very important: do not use limestone
water.

GROUND
|
Good quality soil.

FLOWERING
|
Between March and April. The orange tree has
evergreen leaves which form a leafy and compact tree top and has also thorny
branches in young trees.

FERTILIZED
|
During the whole year if possible. Use products rich in nitrogen
during the summer and with microelements during the winter time: iron,
magnesium, zinc or potassium to avoid the soon fruits fall.

PRUNING
|
Cut the low branches which touch the floor to protect
the fruits. Clear also dead and sick branches. Sometimes it can grow vertical
branches which do not give fruits. Cut them. Prune it at the beginning of the
spring, after the cold winter.
