Wax Flower
Known as Wax flower because the appearance
of its amazing and abundant flowers, which looks like wax or porcelain.
It has its origin in Oceania and is a
climbing plant easy to grow and durable. It is used in hanging baskets. In warm regions it can also be grown outside
in shadow.
It stores water in its leaves.

DAYLIGHT
|
Lot of sun is needed for the bloom, but just in
early hours. Sun of midday can burn the leaves. Put it in a window oriented
to the south or east.

TEMPERATURE
|
Warm weather between 8ºC and 22ºC degrees is ideal. Under
Mediterranean climate it endures -3ºC degrees. If it is indoors, be careful
with the heating in Winter because it dries the air and that is bad for the
plant.

IRRIGATION
|
Not much watering because the plant stores water in
its leaves by itself. Well drained and high temperature with environmental
humidity.

GROUND
|
Good for little pots due to its little root system. You can change to
a bigger pot every 2 or 3 years for its development.

FLOWERING
|
The roots need to be tight in the pot to bloom.
Flowering season is March-April.

FERTILIZED
|
Every 3 weeks in Spring and during the flowering time rich in
potassium.

PRUNING
|
No needed. Prune it just if you want to shape it.
