Dipladenia (Mandeville) 101:
Mandeville
is also known as “dipladenia” or “Jazmin from Chile”. It comes from the
family of Apocinaceas, from South America (Argentina and Brazil).
This plant can reach 2-3 meters height! It has bright green coriaceous leaves
and beautiful trumpet shaped flowers. It is a climbing vine, and will easily climb walls and trellis´ if given the chance.
Interesting Fact- It is very
toxic, do not eat it!

How To Care for Your Plant:
LIGHT
|
It needs plenty of indirect sun, thriving in well lit areas.

TEMPERATURE
|
The dipladenia does not do well with the cold. Move the plant indoors in the winter, if possible.
|
WATERING
|
2 or 3 times per week in summer and less in winter.
|
SOIL
|
Turf and sand. Well drained: too much water is not good for the plant.
|
FLOWERING
|
The dipladenia flowers from the spring in March until June.
|
FERTILIZING
|
Every 15 days while flowering period.

PRUNING
|
Clamp young plants for a more compact shape and help
the plant with a guide. In Autumn-Winter cut the principal branches until the
3rd or 4th
joint.
